Mel B pushing for Spice Girls 20th anniversary reunion

Former Spice Girl Mel B has revealed that she is a woman on a mission and won’t stop until the rest of the Spice Girls agree to reunite to celebrate the group’s 20th anniversary.

Mel B has been the driving force behind many of the group’s previous reunions but wants to make a special effort for the milestone next year and she will not stop until all of the girls – Victoria Beckham included.

"Nothing has been announced, nothing's official. Yes, we are in talks, because it is our 20th anniversary, and I want something to happen - it better," Mel told US talk show host Meredith Vieira.

"I'm forcing them a little bit - I've been saying it for five years. 'We are reuniting, aren't we? We are? We are? We need to!'"

Mel also defended against the rumours that Victoria doesn’t want to be part of the reunion because she has fallen out with the rest of the girls.

"She is my friend, I adore her, I love her to pieces. If we do something, it has to be all of us. That's the whole point. As soon as there's something to actually announce, I'll be yelling it from the rooftops!"

So do we need yet another Spice Girls reunion? They only seem to take place when work has dried up for the girls although this time, Mel B is busy with her jobs judging various TV talent shows so maybe she is doing it just for the nostalgia.

There will always be rumours about the girls getting back together but even more so this time as the 20th anniversary is something to really be celebrated. Love them or hate them, the Spice Girls changed the face of popular music (viva) forever and that is something that should be recognised.

Even though they have all carved their own careers with varying levels of success, it’s nice to think thatthey will always have a soft spot for the group that made them who they are.
