Ant and Dec to return to Brit Awards

It has been revealed that Ant and Dec will be returning to present he Brit Awards for the second time at the 2016 ceremony.

The pair presented the Awards for the first time this year, taking over from James Corden who has been the longest serving presenter of the Brits. They were big shoes to fill but the pair stepped into the role with ease, and the performance became memorable – even if it was only because Madonna took a dive off stage.

The Geordie duo have been firm British TV favourites since their time on Byker Grove. It was only a matter of time before they graced the epitome of Britishness (not including the Pride of Britain or Britain's Got Talent). The fact that they were selected to succeed favourite James Corden implied that show bosses were trying desperately to revive flagging ratings with among the most popular presenters in the UK.

It seemed to work too and the fact that they will be returning this year seems to confirm that.

"We're really excited to be invited back to host the Brit Awards 2016," the pair said.

"In all honesty we only intended to do it for one year but had such a good time we are thrilled to be doing it again.

"Both of us are looking forward to what will be an incredible night, and we can't wait to celebrate the achievements of British music once again."
