People from around the world will have heard the Jonas Brothers in one form or another, as their work has been used in countless Disney productions and their music has crossed genres over the nearly 20 years they have had in the industry. The 3 brothers, Kevin, Joe and Nick continue to produce new music regularly, and Wings is their latest single release.

Wings is a very short song, and with that it doesn’t necessarily follow a traditional song pattern. But if you’re the Jonas Brothers, I suppose you may think you don’t have to! In the lyrics, Wings refers to the feeling of being able to fly, a feeling you get from being around that special someone. This is clearly laid out in both the first and second sections of the song.

What I really loved in this track is the beautifully crafted vocals. As vocal layers are built and different effects are layered over each section you get a real sense of sibling togetherness. It provides an intricate tapestry. The instrumentation too is not a million miles away from what we may have heard with some Jackson 5 numbers, but with a modern production twist. The electric piano and changing bass sounds are really unique and add to the overall flavour of the song. The one thing I would change about the song is the length. I wanted to hear more of it, it is cleverly written and wonderfully performed, and it leaves you wanting more.
