Review: Low Island - Kid Gloves

Low Island are a UK based band from Oxford who are starting to gather a good reputation as an exciting live and recording band. They are currently working their way around Europe on tour promoting their material, but will be back in the UK to continue to build a following by the middle of October.

Kid gloves shows the vocal early on, with a clear intention of what genre Low Island are going to aim for. With a soft male vocal, gliding over a strong drum beat and synths, there are glimpses of electronic, dance and pop genres that keeps you interested. With a tight arrangement and the introduction of guitars and harmonies this track has lots going on that will appeal.

The chorus is very memorable, with breaks that show that the writing of these tracks is very accomplished. Once you have listened to this song and like this genre of music, I recommend discovering some of the other releases by Low Island, because there are some gems that are worth hearing on their earlier releases.
