Americana Duo, The Black Feathers, New Music Video "The Ghosts Have Eaten Well"

by Adam Bailey

(New York, NY - September 18th, 2018) With abundant critical acclaim throughout the UK and Europe, the UK acoustic folk/Americana duo, The Black Feathers, are pleased to announce their debut American tour this fall. They will perform songs from their current album, Soaked to the Bone, on their 21-city tour, which kicked off in Nashville on September 15th.

The 11 track album, including the singles “All For You” and “Winter Moves In”, were recorded at Strawhouse Studios in Oxford with acclaimed musician and producer Richard Neuberg, and mixed by James Towler at Wincraft Studios, home of Steve Winwood, who The Black Feathers supported on his recent Greatest Hits tour.

Their stand-alone single “Holy Water” was produced at Driftwood Studios on Mersea Island in Essex with Jay Stapley, renown guitarist for Roger Waters and Mike Oldfield.

Although they have additional instruments on the recording, The Black Feathers did not want the other sounds to influence them, leading them to record their parts live. They then added cello, violin, viola, mandolin, double bass, dobro, pedal steel and percussion creating their mesmerizing sound. This made Soaked to the Bone a perfect combination of subtle arrangements and incredible live performances.

Upon release in the UK, Soaked to the Bone was met with critical acclaim and broke into the Top 10 in the iTunes UK Countrychart and the Official UK Americana Chart.

Songs from the album have been played numerous times on regional BBC Radio, including BBC Radio Scotland, BBC Radio 2, and BBC Radio 2 Country. Additionally, it received Album of the Year awards from The Telegraph, FATEA, BBC Radio Gloucestershire, and the Sunday Mercury.

As they embark on their US tour, The Black Feathers have already been met with success selling out their first performance at The Bluebird Cafe in Nashville as part of AmericanaFest 2018. They have also recently released the music video to their latest single,“The Ghosts Have Eaten Well”, further enchanting audiences with emotive lyricism.
