Apple Music Officially Launch Details Revealed

It has been announced that Apple Music will officially launch next Tuesday, 30th June.

To start the music streaming service's life off with a bang, former Radio 1 DJ Zane Lowe will launch the 24 hour Beats 1 Internet radio station which will feature some of the biggest names in the industry including Eminem.

Apple Music is their answer to current streaming services such as Spotify and they are hoping that it it will mend bridges between such services and the artists allowing their music to be accessed through them.

This image was shaken to its core earlier this week following a dispute between Taylor Swift and the entertainment giant. Swift furiously took to Twitter to air her disgust over Apple's initial decision to not pay artists for the use of their music during the initial three month trial period. They have since resolved their dispute amicably though whether this poor publicity will do anything to blemish the company's reputation remains to be seen.

Today, Swift announced that she would be making her latest album 1989 available through Apple Music at launch. She previously said that this would not be the case, and that fans would would only have access to her back catalogue.

After reconciling with Apple Music, she said: "After the events of this week, I've decided to put 1989 on Apple Music... and happily so.

"This is simply the first time it's felt right in my gut to stream my album. Thank you, Apple, for your change of heart.

"In case you're wondering if this is some exclusive deal like you've seen Apple do with other artists, it's not."

The Apple/ Swift dispute has been incredibly prominent this week and in the week leading up to launch, any publicity is good publicity, for the most part anyway. Apple making themselves seem as though they have seen the error of their ways and are now keeping artist's best interests at heart is an extremely clever move on their part. It has made them look as though they are willing to listen to the pleas of an artist who is well known for sticking up for the rights of her and others like herself.

I think this clever bit of marketing will ultimately have a positive effect on the way Apple Musci is received at its launch.
