Jay Z Buys Spotify & Apple Rival Music Streaming Company Aspiro

Jay Z's next battle might be with the likes of Spotify and Apple. On Friday, the rapper made a 56 million dollar bid to buy the Swedish streaming company that competes with Spotify and Apple.

Share holders of the company Aspiro accepted the offer, they had by Wednesday to make the decision. The decision needed 90% approval off share holders.

Aspiro includes streaming brands WiMP and Tidal, these both come as a package under one roof named Aspiro. WiMP offers the first of its kind integrated editorial, magazine & video. This works by editorial teams in local areas and countries providing playlists and other recommendations, in a range of European countries.

Tidal gives a whole new sound providing the only high fidelity quality. This ensures users have the best possible sound quality, this is something not provided by other popular streaming services currently available. 25 million tracks are available in Hi-fi sound, giving four times the bit rate quality over other services available.

In addition Tidal also offers 75,000 high quality music videos, advert free and personally selected by editors to deliver the best albums and songs from every genre daily.

Jay Z first showed interest in Aspiro in January, when he made his offer. The rapper has not yet commented on any plans he has with the streaming service, however people are suggesting that his interests could be in the high definition sound part of the service.

The Aspiro streaming service is more likely to appeal to an 'audiophile', according to Wikipedia an audiophile is a person enthusiastic about high-fidelity sound reproduction. Normally, a person who takes their music listening to the next level will purchase high end audio equipment, connections and speakers etc which can cost well into the tens of thousands mark.

There are a growing number of audio enthusiasts who take their sound seriously which Aspiro will sure appeal to, and give a guaranteed target audience for them.

Some reports about high quality Hi-Fi streaming have argued its use though. Many have said that the quality of the streaming is far above the quality of PC, phone and tablet speakers. This meaning that your average speaker or device would not reap the benefits of the Hi Fi sound, and you wouldn't be able to detect the difference between a non Hi Fi service.
