by Adam Bailey

Alt-Rock/Punk band Bat Allison has just released their latest single “Coffee Shop”, from their critically acclaimed debut album “Battle Scars” to close what has been an extraordinary year for the band.

COFFEE SHOP

The release of “Coffee Shop” follows the unstoppable success of Bat Allison after closing their tour at Rocklahoma Rock Fest in September, receiving the news of Grammy consideration and receiving several awards for their music videos at acclaimed film festivals across the world.

Thrilling, haunting and unapologetic, “Coffee Shop” is an anthem to stop the abuse, to call the shots and take control of their lives.  Written by Lynette Aleman, lead singer and bass player of Bat Allison, the single follows the evolving theme and story line presented on the album, the realization of psychological and physical abuse, its emotional conflicts and its path to healing and empowerment.

BATTLE SCARS, AN AGENT FOR SOCIAL CHANGE

It is the stories encapsulated on Bat Allison’s debut album what has fueled the critical acclaim and attention the band and the album have received. The strength of “Battle Scars” is its bold lyrics together with the band’s raw performance song per song. Because of this combination Bat Allison’s debut album has attracted much acclaim which have led to recognition in many areas by critics and fans alike. One such recognition is the Grammy nomination for “Best Song for Social Change” for next year’s Grammy awards, a very special merit award given to those artists that make a mark on making a positive change to society.

“With this album, I wanted to really tackle my frustration with the state of the world.  In this day and age it is really disturbing at the degree of social injustices that occur every day.  I deeply admire change agents who strive to make the world a better place. It all starts with you and I hope this album ignites and inspires those who listen to it” says Aleman about the strong message within “Battle Scars”.  As the music reviewer from Fresh Finds wrote on their album review:“Battle Scars” is not merely an assortment of tracks; it’s a narrative that weaves a story of resilience and positivity in the face of life’s challenges. The album’s core message revolves around the idea of survival, battling inner and outer demons, and emerging victorious despite the scars that life leaves behind. Through the music, Bat Allison invites listeners to join them on a journey that encapsulates the struggles, the triumphs, and the indomitable spirit of the human experience”, proving that the album itself is an agent for social change.
